2011 Retirement of Jackie Laubner from The Daily Item, Lynn Massachusetts
Jackie Laubner worked as a schoolteacher in Lynn and Lynnfield for 34 years, teaching in various grades from two to 12. She graduated from Salem State College and received her Master's Degree in Education from Boston University. She always dreamed of working for a newspaper. After her retirement from teaching, Jackie worked ten years for The Daily Item in Lynn as the Newspaper In Education Coordinator fulfilling her dream. Jackie is married to Karl Laubner and they have a daughter, Eve.
The Massachusetts Newspapers In Education Council (MNIEC) is an award-winning statewide collaboration of newspapers providing formal educational programs.
